In 1986 I decided to leave the world of employee and strike out on my own with a partner in the financial services industry. He had developed a way for companies to compensate their executives by giving them equity in real estate, such as a vacation home or office condominium. My role was to market the service by getting articles in business publications, doing workshops for financial planners, designing attractive marketing materials for use by real estate developers and life insurance agents.
An article about the concept, "Real Estate Ownership as Executive Benefit," appeared in New England Business magazine in May, 1987.
