How to create SharePoint taxonomies

Available on-site or via teleconference for groups of 6 or more


This workshop shows you how to plan, implement, and use topic hierarchies and controlled vocabularies using SharePoint's Term Store Management Tool.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
At the end of the workshop, you should be able to:

  • Determine the metadata requirements for a specific SharePoint application;
  • Import a topic hierarchy and controlled vocabulary using the Term Store Management Tool;
  • Add, delete, merge, and reuse metadata in the Term Store Management Tool;
  • Implement managed metadata in search, navigation, and document creation;
  • Learn how the metadata features of SharePoint 2013 will affect your role.

INSTRUCTOR
Jean Graef is a "boundary spanner" with an interdisciplinary background as a manager, entrepreneur, librarian, programmer, and journalist. She has been developing and conducting workshops on cutting edge information topics since the early 1980s.

COST
The workshop fee is $1,340 per person (minimum of 6 participants), plus travel expenses if conducted on-site. The fee includes slides and electronic handouts relevant to the session topic.
